Tripim
“I’m leavin! On a jet plane!”… Well, I’m not, but if I were? Tripim would allow me to search people from my area that are traveling where I’m going. Established in 2006, this site’s made for the jet setters on the web. A social network dedicated to those dedicated to being airborne, abroad bound, and interested in not traveling by their lonesome.
I think the site’s a little slow for my tastes, but I guess travelers have patience. It could also be the fact that my browser is sitting here with 300MB being chewed up in system resources right now, but hey – who’s counting?
The features are pretty straight forward, search for people from wherever, traveling wherever. Sort by gender, age and interests. Add contacts, send messages, and save future trips via your user profile, post registration… etc. There’s also a super neat idea… a Translator function for messages. I don’t know about the rest of you, pero no conozco leer todos linguas del mundo, y mi espaƱol es crap to go along with it.
I like the concept, and features like this would be nice to see on more populated social networks, or perhaps, it would be nice to see this social network start to… take off.
