Cost2Drive
Hooray, GAS PRICES! I remember, not too long ago when we were whining because gas prices broke $1.00, then $1.50, then $2.00… I gave up giving a crap when it hit $3.00, and really stopped caring after I found out Europe was paying that PER LITRE. So, in light of the gas gouge days of today, Cost2Drive is here to help rub it in your face.
The site’s pretty easy to use, as you can expect. Select your year, make & model, tell it where you’re going, and calculate your trip. It presents you with a fancy map, some stats, and of course the costs associated with your trip. So… buckle up and break out your wallet.
There are problems with Cost2Drive though, so, guys, if your listening:
- Gas isn’t the only cost for driving a car
- You gotta go at least 15 years back in your car year selection
- Account for octane requirements of cars
- Or allow the user to select it
- Also, toss in a comparison chart.
I love the H3 vs. Prius costs to drive from New York to Los Angeles, that’s awesome. In fact, the fun facts are fun. More of that’ll be cool! I see this site going places, if they pick up the pieces. The average price per gallon is also a little off, considering being in San Diego, I pay about $3.50 to $4.00 depending on which rapist I go to for a fill up, Cost2Drive is telling me averages for $3.05 average per gallon. I WISH!
