Rowdii

God I hope this site lives up to it’s name. Rowdii, a search engine with a social network attached to it. I’ve seen this before… what was it… AH YES! Browzmi, I just relooked at their site, and they’ve come a LOOOONG way since they were reviewed by us about a year ago.

Wow, has it been that long? Perhaps a follow-up review is in order.

Ah yes, Rowdii. It’s new, it’s fresh, not a lot of activity, and like I’ve said before – with sites like StumbleUpon and FriendFeed out there, I’m not sure the use, but ok – I’ll flatter the idea for the sake of sake’s sake.

The concept isn’t new, and the execution is still a tad rusty, but it’s simple and easy. Two things that, when elegantly done, are good. The search engine is pretty awesome though, I must admit. I don’t know how fast it indexes sites, but it was able to find the little guy (us) and the big guys (mashable, etc), so we’re not complaining.

What happens when you get where you’re going? Comment and vote. Start threads about the site… Ok, so this is completely and utterly worthless for sites like this and TechCrunch and so on, where comment systems are in God knows how many forms already (including this one), but for sites like… um… well… anything without a comment structure. Here’s something I just tried – hitting an actual post on Twitter to strike up a thread about it. Neat idea? (If you’re not on FriendFeed, sure), but it’s not possible – bummer.

Regardless, if you’re curious about spreading the good word, or marketing your efforts “everywhere”; give it a shot. Never hurts to try. Besides, who knows if this kind of browsing becomes the next big thing in Germany, you’ll get a broader market and perspective of your Internet experience.

Spread the Love!
