Amazon - WindowShop
Shopping, shopping, shopping - We’re hoping that if we post enough about this, we’ll encourage consumers to shop and save or economy from the impending doom we’re facing. So, to keep this from being too depressing - WindowShop is the damn near prettiest interface we’ve ever seen for a site. Hands-down.
The fluid controls and presentation… you simply have to see it for yourself.
To give you the jist, this is like… flying through the internet with your keyboard, cruising by Amazon’s top products with ease, and preview them as you cruise. For example, with music artists? When you stay on the “window” for a few seconds, their music starts to play. Other awesomes:
- Movie Previews, yea - they auto-start
- Game Previews? Those do too
- How about books? A narrator comes on and starts to talk about the book or read an excerpt
It’s pretty much the damn near coolest thing I’ve seen to browse through stuff you never knew existed and/or things you’re merely interested in seeing more about in a totally rad new way.
