Interacting with Social Networks with Ease
At Sociosophy we know the importance it is to stay connected, right now we’re all sitting around our desks, plugged into the Internets on the Nebakanezer while Morpheus and Neo chat away on Facebook… They do that often. So, how do you stay in-touch with the gazillions and bazillions of friends, followers and subscribers you have without turning into a Social Media Vegetable*?
Shareaholic - Firefox Plugin. This handy add-on makes interacting with your social bookmarking and sharing sites damn near effortless. The extremely simple interface makes posting a snap, and it’s customizable!
Tumblr - Semi-micro Blogging. Tumblr’s usefulness comes from a couple of things. First, it can listen to other services, such as Flickr and a Blog, but even more importantly is the “Tumble This” Bookmarklet. This handy little devil is smart! It knows when you’re on YouTube & posts a video, it’ll check to see if you highlighted text on the page, and create a quote, or simply share a link. Not only that, but it’s an easy add-on to a blog. Mix this with a micro-Blog and you’re running the gauntlet on being a multi-tiered blogger person.
Twhirl - AIR app for awesome by Seesmic. The simple fact that Twhirl allows you to post Tweets to Jaiku and Powce, as well as interact with FriendFeed makes it a hard to beat desktop application. With audio notifications and a customizable look; Twhirl’s pretty much “the must have” app to stay connected effortlessly.
Flock - Mozilla Powered Social Media Browser. Quite possibly, using plug-ins and applications to stay connected is simply “too much” to bear. For ultimate Social Media overkill, flock to Flock. All we have to say about it is this… Holy cow! That’s a ton of stuff! MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Delicious, Pownce… all-in-all they support over 20 popular services, not too shabby if you ask us.
Did I miss anything?
*Social Media Vegetable (n.) Drone of the Internets using the web for the sole purpose of browsing and sharing sites with others in a comatose-like state while chanting “Siiiiiitees” somewhat like Zombies mumble out “Braaaaains”.
