NIN/JA 2009

nin_ja-2009Want to know what I’m doing right now? At this very moment?

I’m downloading newly released music from Nine Inch Nails, Janes Addiction and Street Sweaper… For Free… Legally. Trent Reznor is going to change the face of the music industry if it’s the last thing he does, I tell ya. This morning, about 30 minutes ago, actually, Trent Reznor on Twitter announced the launch of NIN/JA 2009, a site dedicated to their 2009 tour, featuring a “tour sampler” collection of music from the bands.

Radsauce. The sampler album is available in a few options as well:

  • High Qualty MP3 – standard good ol’ fashion industry altering MP3’s
  • FLAC lossless – in .torrent form no less! love it.
  • M4A for you Apple folks
  • WAVE 24/96 – which, as an audiophile hobbyist, this really struck me as “AWESOME!!!!” only with more exclamation marks, and with bigger letters.

I raved about NIN when they did this for Ghost, which is an awesome album, and they still did a great job monetizing that release as well. The music industry could learn a lot about music from Nine Inch Nails. Fan-centric, band-centric music, just the way art should be. Such a simple concept, but over complicated with greedy non-creative assh… ok, I’ll rant about that later. Get your music.
