22Books

22Books Tapes, VHS tapes, 8 tracks, beta max, laser disc, floppy discs… Media comes, media goes - but no matter how technologically advanced we get? There always will be a need to have time with a great piece of literature, in your hands, physically… But that doesn’t mean you can’t dedicate a technologically savvy application, like a robust web 2.0 social network to this non-techie passion. In fact? 22Books is the place to be for book lovers, if you’re not at all interested in adding a Facebook app to keep track and share your favorite books with your friends… then this site is for you.

Then again, they should probably go ahead and write one of those… someone let’m know.

Book lists? They got’m… Lot’s of them! Because naturally this web 2.0 library of user driven content has oodles of lists created by the users. Hemingway fan? Dickens? King? Well reader geeks, geek your heart out on 22books.

I would, but my favorite books lately have been about programming languages… lame I know. Sue me.

UtterzDo you have a face for radio? Are you missing fingers? Unable to type? Too Lazy to type? Too broke to afford a cam? Away on the road without the Internet (somehow) but still want to keep your thousands of web-fans in the loop about your day to day?

GigTide

GigTideAt the beginning of 2007, I could have definitely used some good ol’ fashioned insight as to how to build my resume… But moving into 2008? Even ol’ fashioned insight will no longer be good enough. GigTide is an online FLEX application specifically created to make you into a self-marketing-powerhouse-resume-mogul. Features include a spell checker, support for multiple resume versions and templates, viewer stats (including where the viewer is coming from), PDF and DOC export, contact and cover letter management… and a soon to be monthly fee.

Over all, the application is fast, responsive, and intuitive… but of course it is, it’s a FLEX app by Chief Ingredient. So, for all you unemployed geeks out there needing to get jobbed? Get off your ass and use this powerful tool to get noticed! Hell, even if you have a job, use it and marvel at your resume’s new found greatness on GigTide.

Sociosophy Stuff

Sociosophy

Here’s a little touch-base nothing news about Sociosophy. Since I’ve started this blog, I’ve written on over 50 Web 2.0 sites, found some awesome stuff, found some not so awesome stuff…

But, it’s time for a little viewer feedback. What works? What doesn’t? What would you like to see? What’s lame? Just a quick bit of constructive criticism will go a long way… as I’m pretty open to changing stuff and fielding suggestions. Gimme, gimme some of your stuff via comments, contact, or catch me on Meebo, good times.

Here’s how Sociosophy is doing so far:

Start, October 8th, 2007
Unique Visitors: 1670
Page Views per Visit: 2.96
Avg Time on Site: 3:18

So, really, honestly? Thank you to everyone that reads Sociosophy, and really reads it. The Internet and it’s fun toys are not only part of this blog, but they’re also part of my living, and I love the web with all of it’s goodness… So, thank you for taking part in the exploration of it’s 2.0 with me, and feedback rules.

Cheers,
Enrique Gutierrez, Author
