Moot

MootOk… I don’t care what this site is, their intro/overview video is f**king awesome, FLAT OUT! Moot.no, a site host to a “new way to share your awesome” via your mobile device, namely your phone, is an application for Windows (ugh! you devs kill me sometimes with this non-compatability stuff - and that’s coming from a Windows guy), anyway…

Windows Mobile people? Here’s your chance to have something no one else’s got!

I tossed the install onto my laptop, just to see what happened, and it’s a good way to share stuff quickly if you have multiple Windows devices, like a laptop, desktop & phone, you’re on the go, have enough friends in the same platform set up, or close to it, and y’all can get down with a new social network. I’ll personally stick with Pownce/Flickr etc for sharing random stuff, and Tumblr/Stumble for findings on the web.

Sociagami

SociagamiOk… Third time’s the charm. I just happened to find 3 websites in a row that have the same goal, but in different delivery methods. Sociagami, in my mind, is the closest thing to “Teh Win” I’ve seen… This struck me as a surprise, since I was thinking this site was going to host aggregation for input and output to stuff, much like FriendFeed… but it’s quite the opposite.

Sociagami allows you to send messages, comments, update statuses, and share things to your friends on Facebook, Twitter and that MySpace site people need to forget about. The presentation is pretty slick, and though you can’t skin the application to be the colors you want, and even though it can’t connect to my Twitter account at the moment (API limitation I’m sure), it’s pretty damn awesome.

I hate MySpace, but people I know use that instead of email - which is now going to be “ok” with me, since I don’t have to actually ever see that site. Nice! Facebook, I’m so sick of Ninjas and Pirates trying to throw stuff at me via a spam-app, I rarely pay attention to that site as well… and have bypassed that now too. Twitter? Well, I like Twhirl, but hey - if I’m already in here checking my social network sites, and have something to say? Say it to them all. Handy.

Oh, and sorry, you 5.6% marketshare holding MAC users can only run this if you’re using Parallels or the like. It’s a windows app, asking for XP or greater… So, I’m going to just come out and say it:

Sociagami Developers, port this app to AIR. Thanks.

Similarr

Attention people of the Internet,

Amazingly enough, for the web-savvy people, we recognize that all the English words on Earth that are of use have been acquired by worthless bastard name vultures looking to make a quick buck on “carpet.wut” - or whatever. I’d like to use this moment to officially give my appreciation to the cleverness of your misspellings… Similarr is no exception.

Oh, and in addition, the concept is rad. Take a search engine, have people throw some search terms at it… and allow them to chat with one another on the results pane? Awesome. The site features an array of social networking aspects including:

  • Friends & Foes
  • Private Messages
  • Forum Subscriptions
  • Profiles
  • Usage Activity (# of posts, % of site volume)

Their tagline pretty much sums it up, “Search the Web and Talk About Your Interests.” - I like it.

Zannel

ZannelWidgets? *check* SMS? *check* Flickr and Twitter integration? *check* Extensible, awesome features? *check* Clean, fast inteface? *check* — Zannel, a new online service that’s in beta (currently) has definately got it together. In the past two years there has been a nice influx of random one-off toys that a small handful of people use, but then there are sites that fit into that “holy crap! this is awesome” category… I’m going with, ‘This is one of them’.

I’ve only tooted the horn about BrightKite, I believe, in terms of web-toys that make Twitter rock. Well, this one might even make Twitter wince. Microblogging that supports Flickr, has micro-managable notification  options (including scheduling and so forth), includes fancy search features - with filters, has a Family Filter toggle, and … hell just take their tour.

From their about page - ZANNEL is about life in real time - a way for you and your friends to share what you’re doing, feeling, and seeing as it happens.

Yes! They love “now” just as much as the rest of us!

Zkout

ZkoutReally… I like the Internet, I really do. So I take it personally when something offends the quality of all things I find great on my quest through Al Gore’s playground. As a result, I really didn’t want to write about ZKOUT, given the happy-go-neato disposition I normally try to find with most applications that don’t really fit my fancy… This one just failed on damn near all levels.

Here’s the good:

  • They have a mobile version (m.zkout.com) which is always a nice doo-dad.
  • FLEX! I love FLEX stuff…
  • Upload photos feature
  • Profile creation, woohoo
  • Location-based interaction, bonus.

Here’s the bad:

  • 3rd-party Social Network Integration? Not that I can see…
  • The web interface == Atrocious
  • The web interface == Atrocious
  • The web int… you get the point

Ok, what’s atrocious about the interface - I’d hate to sound like a complainer without specifics. First, the buttons, bad. The layout of the features - also bad. In fact, the whole thing looks like the older version of drs2006.com … ah I miss that site. Running Internet Radio was fun back in the day. You rookie podcasters don’t know squat about awesome guerrilla radio. Lemme tell ya.
